Dance Senior Portraits

Quiet but fierce: that's Valerianna. She's stunningly beautiful, and that hair... OMG that hair! People dream of having long flowing locks like her. I want locks like her.

When we chatted to plan her session, her mom Tracy told me about all of Valerianna's interests and preferences for her shoot. One of her big requests was Christmas lights, which was perfect because her session was later in the season and we got to shoot at the Magic Tree in Columbia! All of my clients around that time of year know that I am a holiday nut and love love love anything to do with the season, so naturally I was thrilled to try something different.

Valerianna has a crazy busy schedule that includes dance, cheer, school, and work. She's been dancing for years and decided to bring her pointe shoes with her to her shoot. She showed me all of the moves: Relevé, Arabesque, Attitude. After her shoot I used all the images of the different moves to compose an art piece that would embody the passion she has for dance.
