When Khristen submitted her senior model application, I knew she HAD to be the Dark Queen! Her gorgeous dark hair and those piercing blue eyes give her that mysterious look that was exactly what this shoot needed. She went from into hair and makeup with Kaylee where we give her big curls and dark makeup to really make her features pop.

After that, we all headed out to our shooting location and got her all dressed up! The custom feathered piece I created for her shoot gave us just the right amount of texture and the perfect black/blue color compliment. I had way too much fun with this crown and bird... The entire shoot I had that "bird is the word" sing stuck in my head. Now you probably do too, if so you're welcome.

The big question I get is why am I doing these crazy, fun, out-there shoots. The answer is simple: for the fun of it! I want these models to get images that we could never create in their regular session. You can't throw wild makeup and hair on a model for portraits that are meant to have a natural look and feel. These are about me quenching my creative thirst by doing shoots I've dreamed of doing for months, and having a blast with this year's senior model team. They are having a shoot that is completely unique to them, and we're ALL fired up about the images and experience!
